BioMy background is in the natural sciences, mostly field biology, but also natural history and general science interpretation. I love to be outdoors, but I also love history, mythology, exploring other cultures and religions, space.... I read just about anything except horror, because my imagination can't leave it on the page, but I love reading science fiction, fantasy and the classics. I write mostly novel-length science fiction and fantasy, but I've also written ribbons of nonsense poems for my son. Presently, I live beside the Sydney River in a large, old tumbledown company house on Cape Breton Island with my veterinarian husband, young son and eight furry family members, where I like to spend my days imagining I'm Ratty from The Wind in the Willows.
